Meet our volunteers

SPW Volunteers expand our capacity by taking on the essential work of assembling harm reduction kits, running deliveries, or counting and organizing inventory. They also draw on their own expertise to support us with things like fundraising, advocating for new policies, doing outreach, and even designing excel tools that make our systems run more efficiently!

Volunteer Highlight

Anne Golibersuch

Anne Golibersuch is one of SPW’s longest standing volunteers. In 2021, Anne assembled over 10,000 kits and spent over 370 hours supporting SPW through kit making, organizing inventory, event support, and more. Anne is a true harm reductionist, volunteering for other local HR and mutual aid groups as well as SPW. She is willing to take on all sorts of work to help PWUD stay safe and ensure people are treated with dignity. We’re so lucky to work with someone like Anne!

Become a volunteer

“I’ve volunteered a lot in my life, and always felt like I had to hide parts of myself in order to “fit in” with other orgs. At SPW, I can bring my full self to every volunteer opportunity and be seen and accepted. It’s also awesome to see the direct impact of my volunteering. I see the stats of how many lives were saved from naloxone kits distributed by SPW, and I know I might have put together a few of those kits. It feels good to know the community is benefitting AND I don’t have to hide anything about myself.”
