This June, SPW and the harm reduction community lost the incredible force that is Brandy Tuitama. Brandy, the Syringe Service Program Specialist in Kingman, was a bright light to her participants and to our staff. Always the first to share encouragement, Brandy was a uniquely gifted person who knew how to make others feel welcomed. With Brandy, you knew that you belonged.

This experience has been incredibly heavy for Brandy’s family and her children. Please see the link in our bio if you would like to share resources to help support them. In this difficult time, the family would appreciate support by respecting their privacy as they grieve.

A message from our Executive Director: “The last fourteen years of my life have been dedicated to SPW and the growth of harm reduction in Arizona. As I announce my resignation, I look forward to the future for both myself and the organization. I’m excited for my next chapter and I’m confident in our board to choose my successor. I know that I am leaving SPW in capable hands.

Even though I am resigning, I will still be around in one way or another. I will always support SPW and the amazing work that they do. I look forward to your continued support and engagement during this period of transition.”
