Kayla Kurti,

In 2012, Kayla left her hometown in New Jersey behind for the Sonoran Desert heat. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from The University of Arizona and has been working for non-profits in Tucson since graduating. Kayla has extensive experience (both personally and professionally) with things like behavioral health, domestic violence, substance use, and syringe access programs. Her most recent job doing sex education, HIV and Hepatitis C testing ignited a passion for reproductive and healthcare justice. The intersection of Harm Reduction and Healthcare is where she is most comfortable. Finding the Harm Reduction Community in Tucson has been formative for her, and she is so excited to continue being a part of it as part of the SPW team! You can catch her obsessing over plants and aquariums in her spare time–and hanging out with LOTS of animals.
