Janely Barragan, you can call her Nely was born in San Clemente California, but practically raised in Arizona. She started as a volunteer at Sonoran Prevention Works and now is a Harm Reduction Outreach Worker. She has Hereditary Chronic Pancreatitis and Chronic Pain, dealing with the pain every day and injustices made her go into the medical field as a Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy hoping to help others in chronic pain, however what she witnessed was no different than what she experienced herself. In addition, having lived through family, friends and closed loved ones with substance use made a combination that sparked that fire in her to implement Harm Reduction in her own personal life and those around her to keep them safe. She has a passion and heart for not only people who use drugs, but also for people that feel like that health field has failed them. Janely enjoys dancing, hiking, reading, and most important thing to her is her family.
